Where are we camping?
The Group Campground at Philpott Lake. We have reserved the campground Friday through Sunday. Camp sites will be available for both Friday and Saturday nights. The area offers group camping with all the basic amenities – picnic shelter, flush toilets, showers, outdoor grills, a water fountain, an amphitheater and basketball goal. Click on the Directions tab for driving directions.
How much does it cost?
The rental fee will be shared by those who are camping. Donations accepted as well.
Will we be the only ones using the campground area?
Yes, we have reserved all the spaces for the weekend.
Can I come fellowship if I don't camp?
Absolutely! We hope you will! Anyone is welcome to come for the day on Saturday and/or Sunday.
What about Sunday?
We will be having a special worship service at the campground at 10:00 am, followed by a pitch-in picnic lunch for the whole church family.
Will there be a service at Christ's Church that Sunday?
No, there will not be any services at our church building on Sunday, September 16. We hope everyone will be able to join us for the special service at the campground.
Why do I need to sign up?
There are a limited number of sites with water and electrical hookups. We want to make sure there is plenty of space for everyone who wants to camp. We also would like to be able to formulate a parking plan for Sunday morning.
What will we be doing?
Chillaxin’ –– The only ‘scheduled’ event will be the worship service on Sunday morning. We hope the weekend will be a time to relax and fellowship. The camp site offers easy access to the Visitor Assistance Center, the playgrounds, fishing (license required), hiking trails and view of the beautiful Philpott Lake and dam.
Where do I sign-up?
If you need transportation, or have any additional questions or suggestions, please contact any of the elders. We're excited about the weekend and are asking God for refreshment through numerous opportunities to enjoy Him and each other (Mark 6:31).
