How is Christ's Church Led?

At Christ's Church we're fond of saying that Jesus is our "Senior Pastor" because in Scripture, He alone is the Chief Shepherd and Head of the Church. We enthusiastically affirm that He is the true source of all the church is and does, and His glory is to be the object of every act, function and motive of the body, both individually and corporately.

Jesus calls qualified men to lead His church as elders, whom we also call pastors. Qualifications for eldership are found in I Timothy 3 and Titus 1, and include leading their families well, a record of serving Jesus well both in the church and in everyday life, a thorough knowledge of the Scriptures, a mature Christian walk, and a good reputation both in and out of the church. The primary responsibilities of elders include praying, studying and teaching the Scriptures, leading the vision of the church, caring for the people of the church, living lives that are exemplary, protecting the church from false doctrine and teachers, as well as developing other leaders.
